Biography

Born in Canada, Conrad Williams was educated at Bedales School, and won an exhibition to Trinity College, Cambridge where he read English and Law. After qualifying as a barrister and being called to the Bar (Middle Temple), he joined Blake Friedmann Literary Agency as a Film / TV agent in 1986. He represents over 40 scriptwriters and three directors, and shares the selling of film rights in the agency's books with Julian Friedmann.

Also a writer, his highly acclaimed novels 'Sex and Genius' and 'The Concert Pianist' were published by Bloomsbury in 2002 and 2006, respectively.  Not surprisingly, Conrad applies a practitioner's range of editorial skills to his client's work, particularly in the preparation of scripts and the honing of TV concepts, whilst his legal background is much drawn on in negotiations and contract drafting.  His clients are involved in every aspect of TV programming (from soaps, childrens' TV and documentaries, to original and long-running series and event dramas) and theatrical release feature films.  He is married and has two daughters.
