Biography

The 'Jamie Oliver of maths'! Ebullient 28-year-old actor, director and a much-in-demand maths tutor, who studied at Eton and Oxford, and developed the board game The Eton Game. Came second in the first ever National Sudoku Championships and author of TEACH YOURSELF ADVANCED SUDOKU AND KAKURO (Hodder, 2006). Has written the 'You Do the Maths' column in the Guardian.

 

Nick is author of IT ALL ADDS UP: Making Maths Simple, the first in a series of books on making the foundations of maths simple and fun for children (and the adults helping them). His YOU KNOW I NEVER REALLY UNDERSTOOD... A Romp Through Arithmetic is an adult title looking at all those questions that baffled people at school - like fractions vs decimals, what are prime numbers, what is algebra for? Vietnamese and Japanese rights have been sold, and a further adult title, HOW TO BE CLEVER (on effective strategies for sharpening your mental arithmetic and so boosting your 'cleverness'), has also been pre-empted by Asunaro in Japan.
