Biography

Born in East Sussex in 1970, David L Hayles studied film and theatre at London University. After a year in the Caribbean working as a cocktail waiter, he returned to London to study journalism and has since worked for MTV and the BBC.

His critically acclaimed collection of short stories, THE SUICIDE KIT, was published by Random House in 2002, drawing comparisons with Roald Dahl, Ian McEwan and Iain Banks. Another collection, CANNON FODDER, was published by Harvill Secker in 2005. He lives in London.
