Our heroine (‘Dash’) stands by, ready to frustrate and delight him, and sometimes simply to tear things to shreds. She is a handful … but is also the agent of a very happy ending. It’s just possible for a man to love two ladies at once – but only one of them can be a bitch! With greyhound racing enthusiasts aplenty as well as thousands of retired racing greyhounds re-homed each year, this book will appeal to fans of the breed – but also to anyone who loves animals, a good laugh or romance. Biography
Freelance editor and published poet, BITCH OF THE YEAR is his prose debut. As a poet, he has received praise from Daljit Nagra ('Dilger seems effortlessly to find his creative powers through things outside himself') Simon Armitage ('a clever poet writing crafty poems') and the late Michael Donaghy, who said of his debut collection: '"Promising" doesn't do Dilger justice. He already delivers with flash and finesse.' Andrew lives in Oxford with his wife, Sarah, and greyhound, Dash, and is writing more non-fiction.
