Biography

A former current affairs journalist with the BBC World Service, she lives in London. Author of THE BOOK OF WISHES AND COMPLAINTS (Hutchinson, 1991; Flamingo 1991) and THE SAND BEETLE (Hodder, 1993; Flamingo, 1994). Zina is the daughter of Russian and German-Jewish parents, who came to England as refugees. Her first husband was Iranian, with a Polish mother, and it is her experience that formed the framework of THE OFFICER'S DAUGHTER. Zina speaks French, Russian and Czech. She is currently working on her next novel, THE SMALL BOOK.
