Errol Christie

Agent: Oliver Munson

Biography

Errol was born to Jamaican parents who emigrated to Britain in the 1950s.  His father was a labourer diagnosed as a schizophrenic later in life after years of violent behaviour in the family home.   Errol spent his youth in Coventry where he distinguished himself more by his streetfighting ability than academic prowess. At the age of eight, he began boxing at the Standard Triumph gym and had his first proper fight at ten years of age. By thirteen he was schoolboy champion of England and European boxing champ ten years later. Errol was a professional boxer throughout the eighties and a regular fixture on ITV's Fight Night.  After years of working as a club bouncer and market trader after his sporting career spiralled downwards, he has now re-emerged as a trainer to City boys who engage in White Collar Boxing.

NO PLACE TO HIDE is his story of growing up black in the Britain of the 1970's and 80's as told to journalist Tony McMahon.
