Biog:

Writer-director Charles Harris has come to directing features after a varied early career which ranged from freelance photographer to published short-story writer to fourth-level black belt in Aikido. He trained in acting with Peter Frye of Lee Strasberg's New York Actors Studio, before working his way up through the industry from projectionist to TV cutting-room assistant and then editor for BBC and LWT and then finally director of internationally award-winning TV documentaries and docu-drama.

The time he spent as a photographer early in his career can be seen in his strongly visual style, and his sensitive handling of actors can be seen in his work with a wide variety of talents from James Stewart and Ron Moody to Amanda Burton and Alexei Sayle. His debut feature film as director - Paradise Grove - was released in 2005 and won international awards and nominations including Best New Director at the Palm Springs Festival of Festivals.
