Biography

 

Graham Lester-George is a graphic designer and scriptwriter, ex Chairman of the Writers' Guild of Great Britain. He received an Arts Council award to write the novel.

 

THE CHAIN BRIDGE

Novel

A moving and sometimes discomforting love story, full of tensions and uncertainties that will strike a chord with anyone who has tried, or thought about trying, to recapture a lost love. Peter Bartlett is in Budapest to make a documentary about the famous Chain Bridge. There he seeks out Anna with whom he had an intense love affair 25 years before. Their meeting is electric and they soon realise that their intense feelings for each other have survived. Both have rocky marriages and it feels as if finding each other is almost a fulfilment of destiny.

 

But their plans are based on alternate memories of a shared past: Ultimately though, they discover that the past cannot be reclaimed, and the claims of others on their lives cannot be denied. Opening chapters and synopsis available.
