Biography
Daniel Boyle was born in Greenock, Scotland. He left school at fifteen and became a deckhand in the Merchant Navy. After eleven years as a seaman, he worked as a postman before entering Glasgow University as a mature student. Post university he worked in housing before becoming a Lecturer in Dundee College of Further Education. He became a full-time writer in 1990.
