Biography
Tony has spent over twenty years as a writer, much of that has been in 'disposable media', ie magazine and news articles and reviews, radio and television sketches and adverts and suchlike. He has written for shows and brands like Weekending, Hudlines, Spitting Image, Capital Radio Group, Saga, Plays and Players, Starburst, Your Sinclair and a ton of local papers and magazines. He has also spent many years working in the PR arena writing press releases and arranging events for clients including Learndirect, the West Midlands Labour Party and Jools Holland's Jam House.
As a comic writer, since 2004 he has written for Marvel Comics ( X-Men and Amazing Fantasy), Titan Publishing ( Wallace & Gromit, and an upcoming Shrek tale), Panini Comics ( Doctor Who, three-parter) and Markosia (Starship Troopers, sixteen issues).
He has adapted the following books -
Shadowmancer (G.P Taylor) - 10 issue series of 22 page comics, for Markosia.
The Tizzle Sisters (G.P. Taylor) - Edited 60,000 word book into 18,500 words, adapting remainder into 90 sequential pages of art to combine into a sequential / prose hybrid, for Markosia.
Brothers - The Fall Of Lucifer (Wendy Alec) - 10 issue series of 22 page comics for Markosia. Never published.
Raven's Gate (Anthony Horowitz) - 160 page graphic novel adaption for Walker Books.
Evil Star (Anthony Horowitz) - 160 page graphic novel adaption for Walker Books.
In March 2008 he will be adapting the third in the series, Nightrise.
In addition to these, he has coming -
Hope Falls, a 5 part comic series from Markosia
Dodge & Twist, a 145 page Graphic Novel coming out in 2008 from AiT/PlanetLar. labeled 'Oceans Eleven as written by Charles Dickens' , this is already considered for optioning by Disney.
Robin Hood - Outlaw's Pride, a 145 page Original Graphic Novel for Walker Books.
In addition to this, he has started writing novels. The first of these is a book aimed at the teens market, Rahbin Hood. It is effectively 'What if Robin of Locksley died in Jerusalem, and Azeem returned in his stead', the tale of Aashif Rahbin, a fifteen year old half-caste who returns with Tuck to Sherwood, and masks his face with a hood to hide his heritage and becomes a legend.
