Biography

Em is an experienced scriptwriter and editor and last year she was picked from 80 writers to attend the Initialize Films: Athena Business of Screenwriting Scheme. Developed by Ian Davies of Initialize Films with an advisory panel including Katherine Butler (Head of Development Film4), Juliette Towhidi (writer - CALENDAR GIRLS), Pippa Cross (producer - SHOOTING DOGS) Katherine Butler (Head of Development Film4), Martha Fiennes (director - ONEGIN) and Sarah Golding (script editor - THE CONSTANT GARDENER).

Previous to writing her own work, Em began working first of all in production on films such as EAST IS EAST, GUEST HOUSE PARADISO and BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY, and then as Head of Development/Script Editor for over five years at Mcintyre Entertainment (Comedy Talent Agency: Ben Elton, Victoria Wood, Peter Kay, Caroline Aherne etc). Her role was to develop ideas, both drama and factual, from seed stage to script form with both high profile writers (Reidar Jönsson MY LIFE AS A DOG, Irvine Welsh TRAINSPOTTING, Dean Cavanagh WEDDING BELLES, Paul Fraser ROOM FOR ROMEO BRASS) and junior writers. Following this she began to freelance script edit for various high profile clients and was also a script editor on the UKFC short films and Cornwall film selection panel member. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1996 with a 2:1 in Cultural Studies
