BAFANA BAFANA!: AN AFRICAN DREAM is a charming African fable, following one boy's dream to see his country's national soccer team play. The story of his difficult but magical journey is to be illustrated by Andrew Stooke, and will be published in South Africa in beautiful gift-book format by Jacana in Spring 2009; well ahead of the country's hosting of the 2010 Football World Cup.

"We can't wait to work with this talented team," says Bridget Impey of Jacana. "Troy's charming story is vividly illustrated by Andrew Stooke's classic and original illustrations. As we ready ourselves for the Soccer World Cup in 2010 BAFANA BAFANA! will resonate with book lovers of all ages."

South African author Troy Blacklaws now lives in Singapore. KAROO BOY has been sold in 7 countries and optioned for film.

'KAROO BOY is a wonderful, stylish read. With his supple and inventive use of language, Blacklaws creates fully realized characters and vivid imagery that shimmers against a stark backdrop. This is writing not only to enjoy but to admire.'
