Peter James very much likes 'boys toys' - especially fast cars.  He races specially-adapted 2cvs, and last week at Oulton Park in Cheshire, his car emblazoned on both sides with the DEAD TOMORROW poster, had a spectacular 80mph crash, completely totalling the car. The title DEAD TOMORROW almost became prophetic - but thank goodness he walked out of the wreck.  He's covered in bruises but otherwise unhurt.  Except his pride …!  Footage of the crash can be found on YouTube and there are more pictures here.

Despite the bruises, Peter is cracking on with writing the next book in the Roy Grace series - perhaps he'll leave out a car chase though!
