Andy Briggs to write new King Kong movie

Producers at Spirit Pictures have picked up the rights to the book KONG: KING OF SKULL ISLAND, a prequel to the classic tale of the giant ape and Blake Friedmann client, Andy Briggs, is hard at work penning the script.In the same way Robert Zemeckis made THE POLAR EXPRESS and BEOWULF come to life, KONG will use motion capture technology in order to play out Andy's script.
Andy is also scripting another Spirit venture, WAR EAGLES, a project Cooper, the co-director of the original KONG movie, and Willis O'Brien has to abandon due to the outbreak of WWII.
