Tess Stimson’s voice to be ‘one of the loudest in women’s fiction’ following a 3-book deal with Pan Macmillan
March 4, 2010
Carole Blake has sold UK and commonwealth rights in the next 3 books by best-selling author Tess Stimson to Wayne Brookes of Pan Macmillan, his first acquisition for the publisher, for a six-figure sum.
Of the deal, Carole Blake says: 'Tess delivers entertaining novels with great depth and promotes like the star she is. From the day I delivered the new synopsis to Pan Macmillan, to finalising this multiple book deal, took precisely three days. What a dream team to work with. The future looks very exciting indeed for Tess, who is currently published in nineteen languages.'
Tess Stimson is delighted with the deal: 'I'm thrilled to have agreed a new three-book deal with Pan Macmillan, and to be working with the brilliant Wayne Brookes. Macmillan's exciting multi-media marketing campaign for my new novel is way ahead of the curve, and the future couldn't look more promising. They really are the publishers to be with.'
Wayne Brookes joined Pan Macmillan this year and this deal is his first for the publisher. 'We're all overjoyed to be carrying on our best-selling relationship with Tess. Her novels are poignant, funny and bursting with emotion. No subject is taboo, but she handles everything with such expert skill that her readers are totally immersed in her world. I have joined Pan Macmillan at a very exciting time for Tess, and we have fabulous plans already in place to make her voice one of the loudest in women's fiction. We will publish the first novel in the new deal, THE WIFE WHO RAN AWAY, in 2011.'
WHAT'S YOURS IS MINE, Tess' latest novel, will be published by Macmillan in April. The publisher will deliver her biggest promotional campaign, which will include TV advertising on Living and a London bus campaign.
