Two Blake Friedmann authors meet at the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival

August 5, 2010 After taking part in a successful panel discussion  called Putting the Boot In about violence in crime fiction at the 6th Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate, Craig Russell spent a considerable amount of time signing books for fans (including one who regularly travels from Germany in order to get Craig to sign his novels).  One who queued for a signed book was Mari Hannah, a new crime writer client of Oli Munson's.  Carole Blake took the picture of the two crime writers meeting for the first time.

Craig Russell's Lennox series is published by Quercus in the UK and the first in the series, entitled LENNOX, has been described by Michael Connelly as 'a crime story that transcends the genre. Craig Russell brilliantly uses the character of his tough, funny and hopeful man Lennox to give us the eyes and ears on a time and place. This is storytelling at its very best!' Russell also writes the Fabel series (Random House UK and 21 other publishers around the world). The Fabel novels won the 2008 Crime Writers' Association Dagger in the Library Award, and Craig was shortlisted by the Crime Writers' Association for the 2007 Duncan Lawrie Dagger.

Mari Hannah is the author of THE MURDER WALL and SETTLED BLOOD, a crime series set in Newcastle, which have both been sold to Goldmann in Germany. She was recently one of the recipients of the New Writing North's Northern Writers Awards 2010 for adult fiction.
