High praise for the DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS marketing campaign

October 9, 2008

The Macmillan hardback marketing campaign for Peter James' DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS was Highly Commended at the Books Marketing Society meeting on October 9 as Runner-Up in the Best Marketing Campaign for May-August 2008. The judges praised the extremely creative, innovative use of the branded police car, and the way the launch party, poster advertising and consumer competition complemented it so well. They also felt the campaign was particularly effective because of its largely regional focus, thus garnering press, TV and PR coverage that a London-based or nationwide campaign may not have enjoyed.  The overall winning campaign was Penguin's activity for Sebastian Faulks's latest James Bond title.

The winners and runners-up from throughout 2008 will automatically be on the shortlist for the Best Marketing Campaign of 2008, announced at the BA conference next year.
